Kenton is a small village of approximately 160 people located at the junction of Hwy#21 and PR #259. It is the major trading center in the RM of Woodworth. The municipal office is located here as well as several thriving businesses and a school with grades K - 5 and a licensed day care. Medical services are available at Hamiota (15 minutes up the road). The economic base is derived from mixed farming, grain and livestock. The family farm is still evident in the community. Kenton and the surrounding community are very proud of the rural water pipeline that supplies the town and farms with treated drinking water. The town also has a sewage system. Kenton is a quiet community with many activities of interest to those of retirement age. We are especially proud of our campsite situated at the Kenworth Dam just a mile south of town. The Dam has been stocked with Northern Pike and Pickerel to provide enjoyable fishing in the winter as well as the summer months. The swimming and beach area is used for swimming lessons and socializing. Washrooms, shower facilities and change rooms are available. The campground consists of seven serviced (water & hydro) sites and an area for tenting.
